A letter from G&M Indy President, Frank K.
Crossroads of America Conference
May 8-10, 2009 Summary!
"First off I want to thank everyone who helped make Crossroads of America
Conference a success!! We
had a total of 81 attendees, workers, vendors, performers and guests!
Not bad for a first try in
these hard times!! This truly was a coming of age for our Club!
Although it was a Murphy's Law kinda event, we were able to roll with
the little problems and even
make some of them into advantages with a little work. Thanks to all of
you working together like pros
at this and not losing your cool. Learning these valuable lessons only
makes a stronger Club!! I'm so
proud of all of you for this!! And it makes me right in saying, You are
the Best Club in America and
we will continue to get even better with time as we go!! Kudos to you
all!!
I would like to give special thanks to a few individuals for their hard
work and efforts in making
this event happen.
The Crossroads committee of Michael S. & Rufus W. for their commitment
to this project in some hard
and difficult times; and to Jeff S. who donated his time and money to
pull this off; our performers
Elijah Black, John Marcum & Michael Lambert; and to all the vendors and
Clubs that helped us out too.
And a special thanks to Mike Davis for giving his hand and advice to
me!!
And last but not least, to all the Board Members and Volunteers who
worked to make this a success!!
I am looking forward to next year and making this a premier event for
all of the gay community to be
proud of.
Let's continue to grow and help Indianapolis to become a place all gays
can be proud of, and want to
be associated with!!
I see a brighter future when the Gay Community works together to achieve
our goals of becoming Equal
and getting the rights we deserve. Let's make Indianapolis the guide to
how that can happen. We can
do it!! Yes We Can!!"
